Owner
Craig Johnson is the founder and owner of Epic Auto Creations and was practically bred for the automotive industry. From day one, Craig could be found in his dad’s shop or garage—he often jokes that he was probably conceived at a car show. Cars have always been more than a career for him; they’re a lifelong passion.
After graduating from Kirkwood’s Automotive Program, Craig spent 25 years working in local collision centers, all while perfecting the fine details of classic and custom cars during nights and weekends. His dedication to craftsmanship and precision has led to many custom creations earning numerous national awards.
In 2020, Craig made the decision to open Epic Auto Creations with a clear goal: to bring a higher level of detail, care, and recognition to automotive repair and restoration. He believes every vehicle deserves individual attention, and every customer deserves a one-on-one experience. At Epic Auto Creations, cars aren’t just numbers—they’re respected members of the automotive community, built, restored, and repaired the right way.
When Craig isn’t in the shop, you’ll find him competing in national autocross events or proudly supporting his children after years of coaching youth sports.
Brad Johnson is the heart and soul of the shop—and proudly the old man of the crew. After enlisting in the U.S. Army and returning home, Brad continued his lifelong love of cars, eventually owning and operating his own custom car shop until retirement.
Retirement didn’t slow him down for long. Still passionate about restoration, Brad decided he wasn’t done yet—and plans to be in the shop for the long haul. You’ll find him coming to work every day, hunting the internet for your next project, and tracking down that one hard-to-find part needed to finish the job.
With decades of hands-on experience, unmatched problem-solving skills, and an uncanny ability to locate parts—even if they’re buried in piles of shop clutter—Brad brings invaluable knowledge and dedication to every project.
When Brad isn’t at the shop, you’ll find him at local car shows and cruise nights, or proudly supporting his grandchildren and all of their activities.
Mary Johnson has been the company’s Accountant and Bookkeeper for over five years, bringing dedication, reliability, and attention to detail to her role. In addition to managing the books, Mary helps ensure the office is kept clean, organized, and running smoothly.
Outside of work, Mary is known for her generosity and community involvement. She donates her time to Camp Courageous, her church, the local food bank, and the Catholic Sisters, always eager to help where she is needed most.
When she’s not giving back, Mary can be found cheering on her grandchildren and attending their many activities, proudly supporting them every step of the way.
Cars have been a lifelong passion of mine. I grew up in the shop working alongside my dad, where he taught me bodywork and painting. That early exposure led me to purchase my first project—a 1972 Nova—where I began learning firsthand what true restorations require.
I’ve been in the automotive industry for 27 years, starting at AutoZone while repairing cars on weekends. Over the years, I’ve owned and worked on countless vehicles, with a particular love for F-body platforms and Corvettes. For the past 10 years, I’ve focused on the classic car segment of the industry, which has become my true passion.
My experience spans engine building, wiring, bodywork, and fit and finish, and I’ve had the opportunity to work with several local race teams. I’m currently active in autocross, with plans to expand into road racing.
Automotive events are a family affair for us—my wife and I both own Pontiac Trans Ams and enjoy attending shows together. When I’m not in the shop, you’ll likely find me hunting whitetail deer with my daughter by my side.
My goal is simple: to make sure your car is ready, reliable, and uniquely yours. Whether it’s routine maintenance or performance upgrades, we’re committed to delivering quality work you can trust.
Noah Porter is a 2024 graduate of the Kirkwood Automotive Program and a young gun in the automotive world. He cut his teeth as an apprentice at a local collision shop, where he developed a serious appreciation for paint work and the chase for a flawless finish.
A die-hard Mustang enthusiast, Noah spends his free time at local autocross events, pushing limits and having fun doing it. When he’s not in the shop or at the track, he’s happily taking orders from his new bride—proof that he knows when to wrench hard and when to listen.
